A Special Appeal....
Uno & Dos....

Uno and Dos are two very cute kittens that were born in an abandoned warehouse in the middle of Baltimore City this past summer. The kittens were found by a caring family that wanted to help them. Unfortunately, Uno, the little shy girl was born with an eye infection, causing her left eye to collaspe on itself.
Not knowing what to do to help Uno, the family brought the kittens to Rude Ranch and asked for help. We are currently treating the kittens for colds and parasites. Then we will tackle Uno's eye.
Rude Ranch is making this special appeal for donations to help pay for the special treatment these cats and kittens need and to help rebuild our medical fund so that we will be able to help more animals in the future. All donations are tax deductible and much appreciated.

Give Hope a Chance....
Hope is a sweet kitten that arrived at Rude Ranch on December 22. She was brought to us by a young couple that found her in Glen Burnie, Maryland. Apparently Hope had been thrown from a car, then run over, leaving her with extensive damage to her hip and pelvis. The couple that found her wanted to help her, but could not afford to pay for the surgery that was required to repair the damage to the young kitten's hip. They contacted Rude Ranch to see if we could help.
Upon arrival, we could tell that Hope had serious injuries, including a fractured pelvis, a broken hip and two fractures in her femur. Fortunately, Dr. Robert Harrison, DVM was able to fit her into his surgery schedule the next day.
In addition to these injuries, Hope also contracted an intestinal virus. The treatment of the virus included around the clock monitoring and feeding.
Although Hope is recovering well from both the virus and the surgery, her medical bills have been mounting.
Rude Ranch is making this special appeal for donations to help pay for the special treatment these cats and kittens need and to help rebuild our medical fund so that we will be able to help more animals in the future. All donations are tax deductible and much appreciated.

A New Day.....
These are three of seven kittens that were brought to Rude Ranch from the Bowie, Maryland Horse Racing Training Track. These kittens were born in one of the barns at the track. Although they may have started out healthy, somewhere along the way they picked up severe eye infections. Apparently, the track vet attempted to treat the eye infections, but his treatment was ineffective. A concerned horse owner learned that the stable hands were going to dump the kittens behind the track. Knowing that the kittens had very little chance of surviving on their own, she brought the kittens to us.
In addition to the eye infections, the kittens also had severe upper respiratory infections and pneumonia. Unfortunately, for several of the kittens the eye infections were so severe that the eye itself had already ruptured.
Despite thier illnesses, these kittens are active, playful and very loving. We are working around the clock to save whatever sight may be left for these little ones and to help them get healthy again. We want to especially thank Dr. Jennifer Sussman of the Belair Vet Hospital and Dr Amy Holstein of All Paws Vet Hospital for providing emergency care for these kittens on the day they arrived.
Although it will be a while before these kittens will be ready, we do know that at least 6 of them will require surgery on at least one eye.
We know these surgeries will quickly deplete our vet funds.
